News from our Members:

John and Janet Maney - On 09 September 2011, We celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner dance hosted by their children at the Holiday Inn in Summerville.  We are blessed with six daughters (all Clemson Graduates) and 14 grandchildren.  They are enjoying retirement in the Charleston Single home they built next to the home they had lived in since 1973. Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary! The Maney's 50th Wedding Anniversary

Abe and Helen Frazier - Of Johns Island, South Carolina, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on 05 November 2011, with a renewal of their wedding vows at Ferry Field Baptist Church, given by their children.

We were married in 1961, at Cedar Spring Baptist Church on Johns Island, South Carolina. Their children are: Abraham and Llwellyn both of Greensboro, North Carolina; Carl of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Octavia of Johns Island, South Carolina. They have 11 grandchildren: Tyquawan, Christina, Brittany, Angel, Ashley, Ja'Meelah, Trey, William, Anthony, Saqueya and Dakarai.

Abe retired from POMFLANT and Helen is a homemaker. Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary!

The Frazier's 50th Wedding Anniversary

Jimmy and Vivian Petite - Vivian and I are doing well. Our daughter Nikki is in her second semester at Liberty College in Lynchburg, Va. Our other children and grandchildren are also doing well. I saw my name on the bad e-mail list. The one on the list is still good but here is my home E-Mail: Click Here!
Ron and Nancy Thomas - Retirement life is filled with surprises, but we are enjoying it. The man cave that I am still working on is scheduled to be done before we both die because progress is slow. We moved our old shed to the property next door. PVC is an amazing thing, since it moved the shed (3500 lbs) with some help from the humans. I am still enjoying my volunteering for the Sheriff's Office.

We had a “second reunion cruise” with Nancy's children, Grandson and girlfriend, and another couple we call “family” around Halloween. They enjoyed decorating the doors and dressing up to “trick or treat” for the children onboard. We made it to Key West on this one and again to Nassau. All of them (less Nancy and I), took scooters and saw the island and landed at Senior' Frogs to close it down for the night. We hit a Nor'easter with swells of 15-20 feet for a day and only reported one green person in our family group.

I spent over four months (5 separate trips) in Ohio this year helping out with the renovation of my Dad's house. It is an older house with lots of surprises behind the walls, under the carpet and behind the cabinets. It was just recently completed and my Dad is enjoying his new house.

Nancy and her kids had many dogs when they were growing up and she wanted to get another one now that we are home during the day. I never had a house dog before, so “Itty Bitz” and I got trained. She is a red/dapple dachshund that weighed 2.5 pounds when we got her. She has blossomed into 18 pounds now. She loves people and thinks it is great to sit beside me in the recliner and sleep while I watch television. She had obedience training at Pet Smart, but could always use more.

Nancy and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary in June; don't know where the time went. During June we traveled to visit my 90 year old father-in-law in Maine. In July I made a trip to visit my kids, son-in-law and 2 granddaughters in New York. I always enjoys those times with them.

Nancy painted the garage ceiling while I was gone on my trips to Ohio. It is a light blue and with a recommendation of HGTV, void of wasps. The wasps think it is the sky and look for another place outside to build a mud mound. It took almost a month, 13.5 gallons of paint for 2 coats. She painted every other day so as not get sore muscles and also painted the living room while I was gone and bought new furniture. We are moving on from the sterile house of all white walls to soft grays right now.

At Thanksgiving, Nancy's children and other friends joined us for dinner. This is the first time in 30 years that we have been together due to geographic differences. Both of her children now live in Florida, so I guess her “family” is “reunited” after a long time apart. We also, did Christmas together, non-traditional one, that is. The menu sliders and hot dogs for dinner and games afterwards.

Our side business, Southeastern Synthetics, will continue to sponsor the Alumni Association at no cost whatsoever to the members. This includes the web, newsletter, materials and any applicable postage costs
